Blocked condensate drain
The most common call-out. Usually cleared quickly and inexpensively, but left alone it causes water damage.
Repairs
Not cooling, leaking water, error code on the display or an outdoor unit that won't start? Tell us the symptoms and compare repair quotes from local engineers.
Most air conditioning faults fall into a handful of categories, and several are cheap to put right if caught early. Reduced cooling is often a dirty filter or coil rather than a failed compressor, and water dripping indoors is usually a blocked condensate drain.
Refrigerant loss is different. A system that has lost charge has a leak somewhere, and simply topping it up without finding the leak is both poor practice and, for larger systems, non-compliant with F-Gas regulations.
Describe the symptoms, any error code shown, and the make and age of the unit when you enquire — it helps engineers give a more realistic indication before attending.
Step 1 of 6
The most common call-out. Usually cleared quickly and inexpensively, but left alone it causes water damage.
Requires leak detection, repair and recharge by an F-Gas engineer. Cost depends heavily on where the leak is.
A frequent cause of an outdoor unit that hums but won't start. Parts are usually modest in cost.
Error codes often point at the control board. Part availability varies with the unit's age.
The most expensive outcome. On an older system, replacement is often more economic than repair.
Tripping breakers can be the system or the circuit — a proper diagnosis avoids replacing the wrong thing.
